In Loving Memory
A tribute to the heart behind Spirit West River Lodge

"She didn't just help build a lodge. She helped build a place where people felt at home — along a river, beneath the mountains, in the heart of Wyoming."
Spirit West River Lodge carries the spirit of a woman who loved Wyoming deeply — its wide open skies, the sound of the Encampment River moving through the valley, and the particular stillness that settles over the Sierra Madre at dusk. She believed that a place like this deserved to be shared, and it was her vision, her warmth, and her tireless care that helped bring the lodge to life.
Our mother had a gift for making people feel welcome. Guests who came once almost always returned — not only for the mountains and the river, but for the feeling she brought to this place. She took care of people with a quiet generosity that left a mark, and the lodge still holds the warmth she put into every corner of it.
She is deeply missed. But her presence endures here — in the handcrafted details of each room, in the way the light falls on the water each morning, and in the spirit of hospitality that has always defined Spirit West.
Her husband — Sean's father — remains a cherished part of the lodge. He still calls this place home, and guests who visit will often find him here, connected to the land and the life the two of them built together. His presence is a living thread to everything this lodge was founded on, and we are grateful every day that he continues to be part of it.
Spirit West River Lodge goes forward as a family place — tended with the same love that shaped it, and open to anyone who needs a few days of river, sky, and quiet.
Forever part of this river. Forever part of this place.
